2017 SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT
We are excited to announce our 2017 production “The Journey Home.” The show opens with “Going Home” from the New World Symphony by Antonin Dvorak, inspiring in us our first feelings of homesickness. We follow with highlights from “The Hut of Baba Yaga” from Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky. In this selection, we reveal the struggles, conflicts, and obstacles that affect us both physically and mentally throughout any long journey. The ballad revisits melodies from “Going Home” as we reflect on the joy and security that we miss so strongly. As the show draws to a close with the song “Last Train Home” by Pat Metheny, we find ourselves in a fast-paced race to our final destination: home sweet home.
NEXT REHEARSAL
We will be having our next rehearsal on Saturday, May 20th from 12-5:30pm at the Sacred Heart Parish Center in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts. We encourage those who are interested in attending to bring a music stand if you have one and a water bottle. Otherwise, we will provide everything else, including instruments and sheet music.
