HISTORY
NEC Winds, originally the Centurions Drum and Bugle Corps, was born from an idea at a reunion of former members of the corps from the 1960's and 70's. The corps which was created in 2010 is a program of and sponsored by the Enfield Performing Arts Group of Enfield CT. The Centurions are also co-sponsored by the Sacred Heart Church Parish Committee of Feeding Hills, MA.
During our first two years we performed as a Mini Corps in Drum Corps Associates (DCA). In 2013, the corps became an official member of DCA and competed as a Class A field corps. The corps performs in many venues around New England as well as performing a Brass Choir during the Christmas season. Currently, the Centurions have not competed since 2013 and are looking to return as a competitive DCI (Drum Corps International) Soundsport group under our new name NEC Winds.
