Robert Villanova – Battery Arranger
Robert Villanova is currently the Percussion Caption Head for the Westhill High School Band & Winter Percussion Ensemble, Stamford, CT. Robert was recently the Percussion Caption Head and Designer for the Ramsey High School Marching Band & Winter Percussion Ensemble, Ramsey, NJ (2008-2016). He has been on the Percussion Staff for the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps (dci), the Centurions Drum & Bugle Corps (dca) and the Fusion Drum & Bugle Corps (dca). He held the title of Percussion Caption Head for the Sunrisers Drum & Bugle Corps (dca) from 2003 through 2008. Robert is currently arranging and consulting for Ramsey High School Marching Band & Winter Percussion Ensemble, Ramsey NJ, Pequannock High School Marching Band, Pompton Plains, NJ, and Park Ridge High School Marching Band, Park Ridge, NJ. From 1996-2007 he held the position of Percussion Caption Head & Staff Coordinator for the Port Chester High School Marching Band and Winter Percussion Ensemble in Port Chester, NY. For the past 20 years he has taught private lessons in the Tri-State Area. Robert is also a Percussion Adjudicator for US Bands. Robert is also a member of the Percussive Arts Society and serves as a Board Member for the Connecticut Chapter. He proudly uses and endorses Dynasty Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, Remo Drumheads, Meinl Percussion, and Innovative Percussion sticks & mallets.
Izzy Delgado – Visual Designer
Izzy Delgado is excited to be taking on the position of drill designer for the 2017 Centurions Drum & Bugle Corps for their return to the field. Izzy has been a drill designer and instructor for 20 years. He spent the last four seasons as the drill designer for the White Sabers Drum & Bugle Corps, helping the corps win the 2013 and 2014 DCA Class A Titles and achieve Open Class finalist status in 2015 and 2016. He has also served as the inaugural drill designer as well as visual caption head and coordinator for the Fusion Drum & Bugle Corps in 2007-2008 & 2010-2011, helping the corps win the 2010 DCA Class A Title. Izzy has been the drill designer for 3 of the 5 Class A corps to achieve DCA overall top 10 status (2011 Fusion, 2013 & 2014 White Sabers) and has helped win 4 Class A visual titles. He has also served as drill designer & visual caption head for the Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps and visual caption head for the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps.
Izzy has designed for several award winning marching band programs and is currently the drill designer for the Central Square High School Marching Band, helping the band become the 2015 NYSFBC SS2 Class Champions. He also served as the drill designer for the Elizabeth HS Marching Band, helping the band to become 2015 Bands of America Regional Finalists as well as USBands 5A National & NJ State Champions in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Izzy is also the program coordinator and drill / staging designer for the Matawan Regional High School Marching Band and Winter Guard.
Izzy has been an active adjudicator for 16 years and currently adjudicates marching band, winter guard, and winter percussion for the USBands, MAIN, and MAC circuits. He is an alumnus of the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps and Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps. In life outside of drum corps, Izzy is an insurance sales producer with AAA New Jersey Insurance Agency and lives in Old Bridge, NJ with his wonderful wife Elyse & 3 year old daughter Taylor.
Jason Surreira – Color Guard Caption Head
Jason started his involvement with the marching arts with the Chicopee Comprehensive High School’s music program. There he was part of the classical piano program and performing with the concert and marching bands. He was also involved with the school’s “Concert Guard” for the 2001 winter concert. He was also the Asst. Drum Major for the marching band. Immediately after graduating in 2003 he took the newly vacant position of Assistant Band Director.
In 2004, he joined the Springfield Targets as color guard technician. He stayed with the Targets until the disbandment of the corps in 2009. The following year, he transitioned from Chicopee Comp’s asst. band director to the role of Color Guard Director. That winter, he joined Excelsior Drum & Bugle Corps out of the Capitol District of New York as the Caption Head of the Guard from 2010-2012.
In 2013, Jason accepted a position as the main Drum Major for the first competitive year for the New England Centurions Drum & Bugle Corps, a DCA Class A corps. Though the corps did not compete in 2014, he stepped down from the podium to once again be a member of the Centurions guard spinning flag and weapon. Now after a two year hiatus he is back with the corps to take on the responsibly of technician and the color guard’s captain for the organization’s new place within DCI’s Soundsport.
